The Newest: Disney Plus to Start Nov. 12 for $6.99 per month

Disney says its new streaming support, Disney Plus, will likely cost $6.99 per month when it launches from the U.S. on November 12.

That is cheaper than rival Netflix, which costs $13 per month because of its streaming plan that is popular. But the Disney service includes a more narrow focus on films and family-friendly displays.

The company is currently announcing details of its long-awaited service that is streaming at an occasion in Burbank, California, on Thursday.

The service has no pricing. Disney is revealing details .

The streaming agency is predicted to carry on Showtime Anytime, HBO Go and competitions Netflix. Disney also owns a controlling stake in streaming support Hulu.

Disney Plus will launch in the last quarter of the year. It will focus on shows when it starts, including a live action Star Wars series plus a string about Marvel character Loki.

As it builds a service to compete with the entrenched streaming pioneers, disney ended a profitable licensing relationship with Netflix in order to create the streaming service and faces challenges.
