Nissan Ghosn Desires trial that is separate from automaker

The lawyer for the former chairman of Nissan Motor Co., Carlos Ghosn claims his client wouldn’t get a fair trial under precisely the identical estimate as the Japanese automaker, and it will be a co-defendant at a fiscal misconduct case.

Lawyer Junichiro Hironaka told reporters Tuesday he’s a Tokyo court looking for independent judicial proceedings for Ghosn and Nissan Motor Co..

Hironaka reiterated Ghosn’s innocence and accused of Nissan of functioning”as one” with prosecutors.

He also noted the procedure for submitting proof in preparation for the trial was only begun.

Ghosn has been arrested in November and charged with violation of confidence and with in under-stating his compensation, falsifying financial reports.

Hironaka dropped comment on reports that Nissan’s alliance partner Renault has referred suspected questionable obligations to prosecutors.
