Roto Lunch – July 6

Test your baseball prediction skills: Livan Hernandez has a 2.98 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 105.2 IP so far, and is at home against the Padres tonight. What will happen?
Note: Padres are hitting .235/.293/.357 in road games this season, and .242/.307/.366 vsRHP. Venable is on the DL.
Note 2: Weather.com says it’s 101 degrees in Washington, DC now. That’s “raw”, not Heat Index.
Position Players:
2b/OF Sean Rodriguez – Assuming he gets to start tonight’s game, he’s a great matchup.
2b/of Carlos Guillen
Borderline (check first): of Angel Pagan – ONLY IF Aaron Harang is starting. It looks like about 80% likely that it will be Matt Maloney, which won’t be a very good matchup for Pagan, however.
ss/2b Mike Aviles
1b Ike Davis – also much better against Harang, though not terrible against Maloney.
of Kosuke Fukudome – Hits righty pitching. Has always hit well in Arizona. Facing a very inexperienced pitcher. Lou Piniella will probably bench him for some reason, just as Geo Soto.
of Tyler Colvin
2b Freddy Sanchez – if you still need a 2b after all the guys listed above.
of Pat Burrell – it’s not quite Colorado (like this past weekend), but Milwaukee against a lefty is nice for Pat The Bat.
Starting Pitchers:
Starting Livan Hernandez tonight wouldn’t be the craziest thing in the world, but there are too many surreal data points going on there to seriously recommend it.
