The obvious hyperbole above while heavy-handed, underscores how easy it is to judge when not walking in someone's shoes. Many have done this when reporting about this era. Athletes on every level are ultra competitive people who want to win - and put money in the bank for their families. PERIOD. They are not role models. They are not super-man. They are ordinary people with incredible opportunity - and a microcosm of our capitalistic, ambitious, better living through chemistry society. How many of these self-righteous media types would take certain medications in exchange for winning the lottery and making their family financially comfortable for generations?
