Mark Levy joins the BDD team to give us the fan perspective as his New York Yankees travel through the 2009 postseason!

I am sure that everyone even remotely interested in baseball watched Game 6 of the World Series. Therefore, I’ll be brief.

The story of the game… Andy Pettitte pitched well on short rest. Hideki Matsui was an RBI machine, and once again Mariano Rivera shut the door on a fantastic Yankee season in their new stadium.

I have received everything I could ask for as a Yankee fan this year. They won the World Series playing exciting baseball. I watched this team since pre-season and seeing them come together was awesome. Four players received their fifth championship ring. Many players got their first, and I am happy for them all. It was trully a great year for all Yankee fans.

I stopped reading all the hate posts online because they mean nothing to me. Listening to Yankee haters spew their venom about money bores me. But everyone has a right to their opinion, so here is mine…

When I was a kid, I knew nothing about the relationship between pro baseball and money. I just became a Yankee fan and stuck with my team. I am loyal. If I were born in Pittsburgh, I would be a Pirates fan. Or in Kansas City, a Royals fan.

I look at the Yankees as a great company that likes to reinvest in itself. When the Yanks play out of town, they always put people in the stands. That alone is a form of revenue sharing. I am not going to root for another team because some people believe New York has an unfair advantage. As I have stated before, I enjoy great baseball from all teams, but it’s just better when the Yanks win.

Can’t wait ’till next year! Done and done.
