Roto Lunch – Season Finale

Thanks for reading until we discontinued the daily posts on Roto Lunch.  I hope all your seasons went well, and would be interested in hearing any stories about teams which have used the waiver wire to their benefit this year.  I know I used it a lot!  Feel free to send email to robmcquown@yahoo.com.  Suggestions (yes, I know we need to get more backups to insure it gets posted daily!) are more than welcome, too.

Anyway, as a season closer, if you’re in a tough playoff run, I scouted out tomorrow’s matchups:

J. Sanchez is great, and should have been a grab-and-hold weeks ago.

W. Davis is fine, can’t see NY playing regulars.  I IM’d a Yanks fan, and he confirmed that since it’s on the road, more than half will sit.

Hudson - why not?

Doug Davis – I believe he has a strangely great career line against the Cubs, at least it seems that way.  He’s pitching well this year, and should be okay, though “at Wrigley” isn’t really a great thing.

Pineiro is likely still in playoff rotation, so he may not stay in long.  Milwaukee batters are playing for stats, so I wouldn’t relish this matchup.

Duensing - never going to be on one of my teams.

Ramos - ditto.  Not going to play guys who can’t even get out AAA hitters, even if they’ve had a few fluky starts.

The only other guy is Homer Bailey, who has shown real signs of life lately, and is facing PIT.  He’s very high risk, but also high reward.

Enjoy the offseason – keeper type questions are always welcome.
