Jeter And The Rest of the Franchise Hits Leaders

Part longevity, part greatness, making it to the top of any franchise’s all-time hits list is as impressive as the names typically making up the list. With one more hit, Derek Jeter will stand alone at the top of the New York Yankees All-Time Hits list.
Currently tied with Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig (2,721) after passing Babe Ruth (2,518) and Mickey Mantle (2,415) last year and Bernie Williams (2,336), Joe DiMaggio (2,214) and Don Mattingly (2,153) in 2007, Jeter has worked his way to the top of an talent-rich list.
Once Jeter moves to the top of the Yankees list, there will be four active franchise leaders in hits in baseball — Colorado’s Todd Helton (2,111), Texas’ Ivan Rodriguez (1,738) and Carl Crawford (1,274) — with a couple of franchise marks in jeopardy.
