A report from MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick states that the Dodgers have acquired George Sherrill for third baseman slugger Josh Bell and righty Steve Johnson.  Sherrill, 32, is under team control through 2011.  He has a 2.40 ERA with 20 saves in 41.3 innings this year.  The Dodgers bullpen got a big boost here as Sherrill will likely serve as the set up man for Dodger’s closer Jonathan Broxton.
