Jeremy Bonderman made his season debut Monday, after being activated from the DL. Bonderman struggled against the White Sox, only lasting 4 innings, allowing 6 earned on 8 hits and 3 walks. Let’s take a look at Bonderman’s location:

The good news is his breaking balls, a change-up and slider, are down in the zone. His fastball, however, was up in the zone and over the plate far too often. His four-seamer was slower than usual, averaging out to a little below 90 MPH. Bonderman’s movement was also nothing special, but it was good enough to not worry about.

Just like in years past, Bonderman’s problems are control related. The Tigers need him to come back quickly and strongly if they want to continue their push for the playoffs.
