Baseball’s Best Bets (June 9, 2009)

Back-to-back extra inning losses on Friday and Saturday have continued a terrible June run for BDDs BBBs. An early Sunday internet outage cost me the opportunity to make a pick there and there just wasn’t a game worth taking a flyer on on Monday.
Even though we’re still 12 games over .500, the units figure is not moving in the right direction but we’ll look to fix that today:
TODAY’S PICKS
San Francisco Giants (-118) Arizona Diamondbacks
THE BET: 100 Units / Win = +100, Loss = -118
Let’s raise some Cain, baby! Matt Cain that is. Cain possesses a solid batting line of .202/.279/.394 against current Diamondbacks and squares off against inconsistent Billy Buckner. Both teams are coming off of a loss and there’s some concern over the West-to-East travel that the Giants must endure before Tuesday’s match-up. However, the West-to-East travel is usually easier than East-to-West and the Diamondbacks are one of the bottom teams in the National League. Cain is impressive on the road and should have beaten the D-backs back in April but the bullpen failed to cooperate. We’ll bank on history repeating itself only halfway this time.
YESTERDAY’S RECAP
