Baseball’s Best Bets (May 31, 2009)

On Friday, the Giants handled the Cardinals and gave BDDs BBBs win #49 on the season.
The 4-2 win by San Fran was never really in doubt thanks to Joel Pineiro’s poor start and the Giants quality pitching throughout. With another day off on Saturday (blog prep, sorry!), the objective is to stay on the winning track on Sunday with the aid of a big favorite.
TODAY’S PICKS
Milwaukee Brewers (-191) over Cincinnati Reds
THE BET: 100 Units / Win = +100, Loss = -191
The Brewers have Gallardo on the hill to square off against Micah Owings for the Reds. Even in a hitting contest, I might take Yovani. Owings has a history of getting smacked around by current Brewers (82 PAs and a .342/.390/658 batting line against). Also, the Reds are without Joey Votto and the Brew Crew’s pen is still humming along. Lots of +s in the Brewers hopefully means a + in the win column.
YESTERDAY’S RECAP (Friday)
Season-to-Date: 49-36, +721 Units, +1,082 Units Unadjusted
Yesterday’s Winners (Friday)
San Francisco Giants (-117) over St. Louis Cardinals (Giants, 4-2)
Yesterday’s Losers (Friday)
None
