Baseball’s Best Bets (May 12, 2009)

The Giants came through for a second straight day with the “Big Unit” collecting win #298 and BDD’s BBBs collecting win #40.
Even with a full slate of games on Tuesday, there was only one out of the bunch that caught my attention:
TODAY’S PICKS
Detroit Tigers (+114) over Minnesota Twins
THE BET: 100 Units / Win = +114, Loss = -100
This is a tough one because Tigers starter Armando Galarraga is 0-4 in five career starts against the Twins. The Tigers are hot though, with four of their last five games landing in the win column and Kevin Slowey is on the hill for Minnesota. Detroit’s lineup is a dangerous one for Slowey and if Galarraga’s poor performance continues against Minnesota, Slowey’s vulnerability should let Detroit’s offense stay in the game.
YESTERDAY’S RECAP
Season-to-Date: 40-24, +1,154 Units, +1,516 Units Unadjusted
Yesterday’s Winners
San Francisco Giants (-138) over Washington Nationals (Giants, 11-7)
Yesterday’s Losers
None
