With the super-early game today, it’s too late to pick up players for today’s game, but some general tips:

- Kosuke Fukudome has the day off, play a different OF today.

- LaTroy Hawkins will be closing in Houston for the next couple weeks, at least, with Valverde out. Don’t be afraid to pick up closers from bad teams. The “good team closer” myth is widely propagated, but the actual winning percentage of the team has little to do with how many saves their closer racks up.

- Phil Hughes is worth considering long-term, if you are in need of an SP. Despite the bad press they’ve received, the Yanks are still going to be a high-scoring offense, and if he’s just decent, he should rack up wins.
