Roto Lunch – April 28 and Fowler is Still Going…

I hope everyone picked up Dexter Fowler yesterday!
Pitchers:
David Bush looks good against the Pirates’ M*A*S*H unit, even if Paul Maholm is going for the Bucco. Don’t pick up Maholm, starting LHP against Milwaukee is too dangerous.
Some pitchers who are “okay” starts for today, though they are unavailable in many leagues: Ricky Nolasco is available in a few leagues, and is a good start against Livan, despite his rocky start to the season. Aaron Harang and Wandy Rodriguez are playing in GABP, but it should still be low-scoring, making either SP a reasonable play.
Batters:
C Yadier Molina and SS Khalil Greene both have hit lefties pretty well, and Jo-Jo Reyes isn’t a very good one.
2b Mike Fontenot hits RHP, though he’s been off to a bit of a slow start. He’s a no-brainer to play today at Arizona against Yusmiero Petit, if you need a middle infielder.
While Millwood has been very rough on RHP in his career, 2b Mark Ellis has hit over .400 with power against him in 31 PA, despite generally not hitting RHP very well. If you believe in individual matchups, here’s one to play… the game is at Texas, making it even better.
Cubs OF Milton Bradley seems to be healthy again, and should be a safe play.
I’m not playing 1b/of Chris Duncan today, even though Reyes isn’t very good. Don’t believe in him against LHP at all.
OF Jack Cust at Texas – always fun.
3b/of Mark Teahen is off to a sizzling start after his awful 2008 season, and he’s facing an easy RHP, which should be good for him.
3b/1b Casey Blake isn’t likely to be great today, but he’s a safe play against J.Sanchez.
Some other options from the SD@COL game: Chase Headley, Kevin Kouzmanoff, Ian Stewart (who may end up qualifying at 2b soon), Ryan Spilborghs, and even Clint Barmes.
In Chicago today, the weather looks fine, so SEA/CHI should get both games in. One game features two great SP, so it’s no picnic, but Russell Branyan and Ken Griffey in that bandbox against Colon sounds promising, and it seems likely they’ll come off the bench in the Danks game, anyway. If you need steals, Brent Lillibridge could get a lot of playing time today. Endy Chavez is still available in many leagues, and Chicago has been useless at preventing the running game for years with Pierzynski catching.
