Roto Lunch – April 25

Pitchers:
- Kyle Davies was available last night in my 12-team league, and is a good play against righty-heavy Detroit, though it’s no slam-dunk, as they have a good offense.
- Several other pitchers are “okay” plays today for H2H leagues, if you really need pitching stats to finish the week: Carl Pavano, Mike Pelfrey (against D-Cab and the Nats), Carlos Silva (going against a very shaky-looking rookie making his debut, no Vlad, and the Angels pen has been awful), Zach Duke (at SD), Shawn Hill (home at SD against PIT), and Jeff Suppan.
- Mitch Boggs isn’t any good, while Sean Marshall is better than most think, but the Cardinals can hit too well to mess around with this game.
Batters:
- Finally, my season-long faith in Jarrod Saltalamacchia started to pay off yesterday… hoping for more to come shortly! He doesn’t hit lefties much, so I’m looking for a catcher today, even though it’s just Meek Mark Hendrickson.
- Mariners are good picks today. Even taking a 1-day contract on Endy Chavez (he of 5 SB so far) against Anthony Ortega’s debut seems promising. Russell Branyan and Ken Griffey are also very promising.
- Scott Rolen is an okay play against Mark Buehrle today, though it’s not worth cutting someone good to get.
- Khalil Greene is a good play against lefty Sean Marshall today.
- Dexter Fowler is looking like he might be ready to play (with 2 HR and 4 SB already), and he’s going against an unproven James McDonald today. He’s a guy to consider picking up and keeping at this point.
- Michael Bourn is playing against Jeff Suppan, who he should be able to hit. And he’s always a threat to pick up a steal. Luke Scott against Feldman is a decent play, for yet another OF option.
- Kendry Morales looks like a good choice against Silva today, if you need a 1b.
… Still looking for a good catcher pickup for one day…. doh! …
- John Baker is facing Chan Ho Park. Think I’ll go with him for today.
