Kubel’s Cycle Third of ‘09

The season is barely a week old and already we have three cycles in the books. The previous two were hit by Orlando Hudson and Ian Kinsler. Along with his cycle, Kubel threw in five RBI just for good measure.
Kubel’s cycle is the first by a Minnesota Twin in nearly a year. Carlos Gomez hit for the cycle last May 7. Before that, you have to go back to Kirby Puckett in 1986 for the last Twins cycle.
With three cycles when most teams have just completed their 11th game puts us on pace to see 44 cycles this season. Oh yeah, and Alfonso Soriano is on pace for 73 home runs and the Florida Marlins are on pace to win 146 games.
