We knew this was going to happen sooner than later, and it had been thought that he was going to get fired first. But according to Chico Harlen of the Washington Post, Bowden resigned this morning – and no one has been named a replacement. In other words right now the Nats are flying without a General Manager.

Here’s a quote from Bowman.

“It is an emotional decision that saddens me, but one that I feel is in the best interests of the two things I love most — baseball and the Washington Nationals.”

We will keep you posted as there will most likely be an official announcement forthcoming from the Washington Nationals – including who might be the next General Manager.
