In just minutes after posting Rob McQuown's article, The High Price of Mediocrity! (see below), I learned that the Mets deal with Yorvit Torrealba had fallen through. (hat tip to MetsBlog.com). As someone who follows the New York Mets and appreciates reasonable economic decisions, I could not have been happier. This quite possibly could have been the most ludicrous contract I would ever encounter. Anyway, it is no more…so yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus!
